Los Angeles International Airport (IATA: LAX) is one of the busiest airports in the United States and the world, representing a major hub not only for domestic but also for international and intercontinental flights. LAX is the main hub for more passenger airlines than any other U.S. airport, namely: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, Allegiant Air, JetBlue and Southwest Airlines.

During 2022, 66 million passengers passed through it. It is located in the state of California, 18 miles (30 km) southwest of the Los Angeles financial district.(SEE MAP).

Public transportation

Several public transportation providers serve LAX, including L.A. Metro, Culver City Bus Lines, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, Torrance Transit and Beach Cities Transit. Passengers can catch many bus lines at the LAX city bus hub. SEE MORE.

Taxi Services and Apps

Several are the cab companies authorized to operate at the airport and a free shuttle connects the terminals to the various cab stand areas. Rideshare service is also available via apps such as Uber, Lyft and Opoli. Cab fares to downtown Los Angeles range from U$D 85 to U$D 120 (in peak hours) and travel time (during off-peak hours) is 20 to 25 minutes. Uber and Lyft are also available at a slightly lower rate.
